What makes ostrich oil so good

Ostrich oil is a rich, natural source of omega 3, 6 and 9. These essential fatty acids are just that - ESSENTIAL. In fact, the human body cannot produce these vital essential fatty acids and should be supplied daily.

Ostrich oil has an added advantage of having a molecular structure which enables it to easily penetrate the skin – it is trans dermal. The skin can easily to absorb all the goodness of ostrich oil providing nourishment directly to the skin cells.

Why use ostrich oil

tajo-oil1Ostrich oil is not a modern discovery but one reportedly used by ancient cultures to help heal and repair skin. It is said that Cleopatra and Nephrites, the Queen of Sheba used ostrich oil to maintain their beauty. Others used it to heal burns and reduce scarring, heal lesions and reduce skin irritations such as eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis.
Ostrich oil is an ideal ingredient to help maintain a soft and healthy skin as it contains these three fatty acids necessary for rejuvenating and repairing skin cells damaged through every day stress, exposure to weather, injury and aging.

Galatea Creams are a range of ostrich oil cosmetics produced by Tajo Ostrich to care for your skin.

How Does Ostrich and Emu Oil Differ

There is not much difference between ostrich and emu oil. In 2001 The Ontario Ratite Association arranged for Maxxam Analytics to undertake a comparative study of ostrich and emu oil. The study showed that they both have similar properties and contain the same essential fatty acids and would therefore perform similarliy. What the study did show was that the ostrich oil had higher content of Omega 3 and 6 than the recommended guidelines for emu oil. See chart for comparison.
